Study of a male nude in red chalk

Small figurative drawing depicting a standing male figure, executed in warm reddish-brown ink on a natural paper ground. The loosely rendered figure is treated with expressive, gestural lines, giving the work an intimate and spontaneous character.

The drawing is presented within a substantial black-stained wooden frame, featuring a striking geometric construction. The wide surround is composed of four large mitred sections with pronounced diagonal facets, creating a sculptural, almost architectural effect. The visible grain and subtly varied surface of the dark wood add depth and texture to the otherwise restrained composition.

The contrast between the delicate, expressive study and the bold geometric frame gives the piece a distinctive contemporary character, combining figurative drawing with strong decorative framing. A refined small-scale work suitable for display within an eclectic or contemporary interior.

Red chalk on cardstock.
