Pair of Wrought Iron Side Tables Attributed to Bartolozzi & Maioli
Elegant pair of side tables attributed to the Florentine workshop of Bartolozzi & Maioli, each featuring a circular clear glass top supported by a hand-forged wrought-iron tripod base. The richly worked frames combine dark iron with antique gold leaf, creating a striking contrast between the structural metalwork and the delicate decorative details.
The three legs are embellished with sculpted acanthus leaves, finely modelled and finished in aged gold, while the central structure and feet feature graceful scrolling elements characteristic of traditional Italian decorative metalwork. The transparent glass tops provide a light and contemporary contrast, allowing the elaborate bases to remain fully visible.
The pieces reflect the refined decorative language of mid-20th-century Italian craftsmanship, combining elements inspired by Baroque and Neoclassical forms with the expressive character of hand-forged iron. The attribution to Bartolozzi & Maioli, the renowned Florentine artistic workshop founded in 1938, further situates the pair within the tradition of Italian decorative arts and artisanal craftsmanship.
