Antique Indian Chakki Table

Decorative antique Indian Chakki, traditionally used as a grain-grinding millstone and later adapted as a low occasional table. The piece is made of solid wood and features a broad, circular top with a raised rim, supported by a sturdy lower structure and short shaped feet.

The surface is richly decorated with hand-painted floral and geometric motifs in deep green, blue, brown and muted red tones. The extensive wear and aged patina reveal traces of the original colours and decoration, giving the piece a distinctive rustic character and a strong sense of history.

Traditionally associated with everyday agricultural life in India, the Chakki has been reinterpreted here as a decorative furnishing piece, while retaining its original proportions and character. Its low, substantial form makes it suitable as a coffee table, side table or sculptural decorative object, particularly within eclectic and interiors featuring natural materials and antique elements.
